Pricing & Quotes

How much does it cost to ship a car?
Most coast-to-coast shipments run $1,300–$1,700 for a standard sedan on an open carrier; shorter routes (under 500 miles) often run $450–$700. Price depends on distance, vehicle size, running condition, season, and open vs. enclosed transport. Quotes are free and take about a minute.
Why do quotes from different companies vary so much?
Some companies quote a low number to win your booking, then raise it when no carrier accepts the load. We quote at the rate carriers actually accept, so the price you book is the price you pay. A quote well below everyone else's is usually the one that changes later.
Is the quote I receive guaranteed?
Yes — once you book, your price is locked. The only exceptions are changes you make (different vehicle, new dates, added inoperable status), which we'd re-quote with you first.
Does vehicle size change the price?
Yes. SUVs, trucks, and vans take more space and weight on the carrier, so they cost more than sedans — typically $75–$200 more depending on the route. Oversized vehicles (lifted trucks, duallys, long-bed) are quoted individually.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes fuel, taxes, carrier insurance, and door-to-door service. The only thing you pay beyond the quote is nothing.

Booking & Scheduling

How far in advance should I book?
2–3 weeks ahead is ideal for the best rates and first choice of dates. We can often arrange pickup within a few days — or 24–48 hours with expedited service — but more lead time means more carrier options and better pricing.
How long does auto transport take?
Carriers cover roughly 400–500 miles per day. Regional moves usually deliver in 1–3 days, mid-range routes in 3–6 days, and coast-to-coast in 7–10 days. Pickup windows are typically 1–5 business days from your first available date.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes — you can cancel anytime before a carrier is dispatched at no charge. After dispatch, a cancellation fee may apply since the carrier has reserved your spot.
What is the best time of year to ship?
Rates rise during snowbird season (October–January southbound, March–May northbound) and summer relocation months. If your dates are flexible, shipping in the shoulder months usually saves money.

Pickup & Delivery

Do I need to be present at pickup and delivery?
You or someone you designate (18 or older) must be present at both ends to sign the Bill of Lading and hand over or receive the keys. Many customers use a family member, neighbor, or coworker.
Will the truck come right to my door?
As close as it can safely and legally get. A loaded carrier is about 75 feet long, so narrow streets, low trees, or HOA restrictions sometimes mean meeting at a nearby parking lot — the driver coordinates the exact spot with you.
Can I put personal items in the car?
Most carriers allow up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or below window level. Items aren't covered by cargo insurance, so keep valuables with you, and let us know at booking so it's noted on the dispatch.
How should I prepare my vehicle?
Wash it so existing marks are visible at inspection, photograph all four sides, leave about a quarter tank of fuel, remove toll tags and valuables, fold in the mirrors, and mention any leaks or quirks to the driver. See the full checklist on our How It Works page.
Can you ship a car that doesn't run?
Yes — we ship inoperable vehicles regularly. Tell us at booking so we assign a carrier with a winch. Non-running vehicles typically add $100–$200 to the quote.

Insurance & Payment

Is my car insured during shipping?
Yes. Federal law requires every carrier to hold active cargo insurance, and we verify the certificate before dispatch. Your vehicle is covered from the moment it's loaded until it's delivered, and we'll send you the carrier's certificate on request.
What happens if my car is damaged in transit?
Damage is rare, but if it happens, the pickup Bill of Lading and your photos make the claim straightforward: note the damage on the delivery BOL before the driver leaves, and we'll walk you through the carrier's claim process start to finish.
Do I pay anything upfront?
No. Getting a quote and booking costs nothing. You pay a portion when a carrier is dispatched (usually by card) and the balance to the driver at delivery. If we never dispatch a carrier, you owe nothing.
How do I pay the driver at delivery?
Cash, cashier's check, or Zelle are standard for the delivery balance — drivers can't process credit cards on the road. Your dispatch confirmation spells out the exact amount and accepted methods, so there are no surprises.
